Renee, or { レネー },　as I now like to write my name, is my real name -- I gave up pseudonyms a long time ago. I'm 25 yrs young and am currently a full-time double major / minor student at the Eastern Kentucky University located in Richmond, Kentucky. First time away from home for any length of time more than a month, and it's great. Thought being away from home this long would kill me... but I find that the lack of money distresses me more x( (the rest of this profile is just rambling, so ignore if you wish).

I'm currently a double major studying Criminal Justice and Forensic Science (because I'm super retarded) and am minoring in Public Relations. I feel those all would go together nicely. I'm also studying for a Japanese Culture and Language certificate, something that I'm finding harder than I had originally thought it to be, and am thoroughly enjoying it. People often ask me why I would takte JPN, seeing as there aren't many Japanese people here, and Spanish would be more practical, but I know just enough Spanish to get by (thanks to my younger sister) and I would love the opportunity to visit Japan some day. Might not be soon, but still.

It's kind of odd being a 25 yr old college freshman, especially when it comes to living in the dorms, but I'm going ok. I just have a hard time remembering that I was raised differently compared to the kids here today. Sometimes I mention things they don't know anything about or was before their time, and it's awkward. But life goes on. I'm doing this for me, not them, so they'll just have to deal with my weirdness.

People often stop by my room to compliment me on my super wonderful bed clothes. It appears that no one here has seen the pattern and colour combination before. After mentioning how much they like my bed, they move their eyes around my walls -- where I have Tsuchiya Anna and Hamasaki Ayumi plasterd all about. They don't know why I like anything Asian, as I'm an American, but I just shrug my shoulders and say, "Depends on your interests, now doesn't it?" They get over it pretty fast and don't comment again.

Obsessions

Anna Tsuchiya I have what my mother calls an "unhealthy" obsession with Tsuchiya Anna, model, actress, and musician extraordinare. I buy (almost) everything about her that I can find (afford). CD's, posters, magazines, magazine clippings and so on. If it's Anna (+ I know about it, + can afford it), then I buy it. I never tire of acquiring new Anna merchandise and sharing it with others (on some small level, at least) and always looking for whatever she has going on next.

The Other Music Aside from Anna, I love Hamasaki Ayumi, ERIKA, Suzuki Ami, (some) Utada Hikaru, MUCC, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Kamelot, Epica, and other music that is pleasing to my ears. I really seem to be into the sypmphonic metal at the moment, and find myself passing up some of my favorite Jpop musics to listen to Nightwish, Epica, and the rest. I am obsessed with Kahn's voice (Kamelot) and can't believe how great it sounds... well, it should sound good, I've heard he's had operatic training? Divine voice, regardless. I also love to listen to the wonderful musical stylings of Metallica. My brothers got me obessed with them a long time ago, and at one time have had all their albums.

Vampires FTW! I don't really remember what got me hooked on vampires. Nosferatu and Dracula aren't exactly very appealing to me. Must have been all those modern vampire romance novels? Yes, must have been. I'm not very impressed with the lycanthropic genre (period) and ghosts are nice, but vampires are really IT for me.
